Peperoncino has been delivering a fantastic culinary experience for over 10 years and has established itself as a warm and cosy restaurant situated in one of the most prominent and touristic areas in Malta – Balluta Bay, St. Julians. Combining great service and stunning views with a delicious and artistic food selection, the restaurant has managed to convey an interesting and varied blend of Maltese, Sicilian, Italian and international cuisines.
The ‘Peperoncino’ name stems from the generic Italian name of hot chili peppers – it actually came to Italy in the early 16th century, subsequent to great Christopher Columbus having taken samples from the New World to Europe in 1492. Initially the peperoncino was considered a decorative and poisonous plant before it was actually adopted into Italian cuisine. Apart from our signature spicy dishes, the restaurant has a spicy element throughout, including its interior and exterior décor.
Peperoncino’s team is its greatest asset – from helpers and cleaners, all the way to the head chef, the overall organisation and positivity of our staff is what sets us apart from our competition.
